RE: Watch your tire pressure at Wal-Mart

I trust no one! I double check everything myself. Its my rig and family going down the road. In the end, i'm the one responsible.

RE: Dodge Flash

Newer flash = more emissions/less power. I could have the dealer correct my speedo and enable the high idle feature on my truck. But thats a new flash and all the new emissions program, no thanks. You can find more cummins diesel specific info on www.dieseltruckresource.com. Sounds like the truck is running as expected with the new flash.

RE: Diesel chips for Duramax

Unless you got one of the few bad tunes from the factory, not going to see much if any mpg improvement. But the extra power can be addictive.

RE: 10% ethanol

My commuter car 98' pontiac grand am gets 32mpg. Put 10% ethanol gas in it and it drops to 28mpg. I drive 120 miles round trip daily.

RE: 5th wheel or TT?

IF you have the tow vehicle (truck), get the 5th wheel. Something round 30 feet long is a good size. Are you planning any winter camping?

RE: Thor Hurricane 30Q

Two people in or camping group had them. One the motor went on a trip outwest with less than 5k miles on it. It got a new motor and was traded in. The other got towed home (electrical problems) so many times it was bought back. These are just two people I personaly know, hopefully others have had better luck.

RE: Please Turn Down The Television!

We bring the TV and usually by the time the movie is over, our neighbors are over watching with us. Course we are courteous with the volume level and its off by 10pm. Then we sit by the fire till midnight. We burn well seasoned wood, not trash. If you want absolute peace and quiet, boondock in the middle of nowhere.

RE: Propane lantern tank refill - anyone try this?

I refill them allot. We use propane lanterns on the boat for night bowfishing. Not to emention the propane heater. Well go through 4 a night with the lanterns. It works best for me if the tanks are positioned in a v shape and the bottles sit in the freezer 10-15 minutes beforehand. Usually get 80% of the bottle filled. Saved us hundreds of $$ over the years. The coleman bottles are harder to refill.

RE: TIRES

I am having the same problems and have sent out email request last week. So for I have heard that you don't want Carlisle, Goodyear marathon, and Tow Max. Whoooa Nellie! I don't know where you got the bad news about the Goodyear Marathons but I can tell you from 10 years of experience that they're amongst the best - if not the best - trailer tire you can get. We've had a problem with one Marathon tire and that was due to UV/sunlight degredation of the tire because of the way we have to park it, By the way, that can happen to any tire over time. Since we started using tire covers, no problems. j_m Until the started making them in china....

RE: TV transmission

Nah, getting the transmission rebuilt is cheap. While out of town on side of the road. Flush it and change the filter.

RE: Sad Story, GM 6.5 Diesel

The 6.5 will run without the lift pump working. But it will be hard to start and not have the power it should. Check to ensure they plugged the lift pump (located on the frame) back in.
